Joining the gym... I was thinking about joining the gym again (I used to be a member about 2 years ago) and finally went for it today! I had my "orientation" first, then went swimming for 20 minutes.
I have an appointment to meet with a trainer on Wednesday (everyone gets one personal 30 min session a week). They tell everybody to come in 3-4 times a week for 30 min of cardio and 30 min of strength training.
Tomorrow I am going shopping for some sportswear.
In January '08, I was 197 lbs after having my 2nd daughter. I was using the elliptical at home, but the weight wasn't dropping fast enough. I joined the new, huge Gold's Gym after some arm twisting by my family and friends, since they were already members. For me, strength training is the key! By that same summer I had gone from 197 to 175. It's amazing how much more fat you can burn by strengthing your muscles as well. I take the weight lifting cardio class that they offer...I feel like I push myself more during that rather than lifting free weights. Today I am down to 162 and am determined to lose the last 20 lbs.
